Referral Program Terms

These terms apply to the Hungry Minds Referral Program (the “Program”), operated by Good Idea Creations LLC (“Hungry Minds”, “we”, “us”). By joining the Program, you agree to these terms, as well as our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1. Who can join

1.1. The Program is open to individuals aged 18 and have placed an order with us.
1.2. Hungry Minds employees, contractors and their immediate family members are not eligible to earn rewards.
1.3. We may open the Program to selected customers first and make it available to everyone later.

2. How it works

2.1. When you join, you receive a personal referral link (your “Link”).
2.2. You can share your Link with friends, family and people you know personally.
2.3. A friend who uses your Link (a “Referred Friend”) receives a 15% discount on their first Hungry Minds order.
2.4. When a Referred Friend completes a qualifying first order, you (the “Advocate”) earn a commission of 10% of that order, paid in cash, as described in section 4.
2.5. There is no limit to the number of friends you can refer.

3. Referred Friend reward

3.1. The 15% discount applies only to a Referred Friend’s first order with Hungry Minds and only to new customers who have not previously placed an order with us.
3.2. The discount has no minimum order value and cannot be combined with other discount codes.
3.3. The discount has no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be transferred.
3.4. If an order that used the discount is cancelled or returned, the discount will not be reissued.

4. Advocate commission

4.1. Your commission is 10% of the qualifying first order placed by a Referred Friend, calculated on the order subtotal after discounts, excluding taxes, shipping and gift cards.
4.2. An order qualifies only if:
• the Referred Friend placed it through your Link;
• it is the Referred Friend’s first order with Hungry Minds;
• the Referred Friend is a different person from you and does not share your household, payment method or account;
• the order is not cancelled, returned or refunded within 30 days of purchase.
4.3. Each commission remains pending for 30 days after the order date to cover our return window. Once this period ends and the order is not cancelled, returned or refunded, the commission is confirmed.
4.4. If an order is partially refunded during the pending period, the commission is recalculated on the amount that remains.
4.5. Commissions are earned only on a Referred Friend’s first order. Later orders by the same friend do not earn additional commissions.

5. Payouts

5.1. Confirmed commissions are paid through our referral platform partner, impact.com. To receive a payout, you need to choose a payout method in your referral dashboard and provide accurate payout details.
5.2. You can choose to receive your payouts by bank transfer or PayPal, in the currency you select when you set up your payout details, from the currencies we offer.
5.3. Payouts are sent according to the schedule you choose in your payout settings, either once your balance reaches a threshold you set or on a fixed day of the month. Before your first payout, impact.com will verify your details, which may take up to 2 business days, and you may need to complete a short tax form. Rewards remain pending until this step is complete.
5.4. You are responsible for providing correct payout details. We are not responsible for payments sent to incorrect details that you supplied.
5.5. We or impact.com may ask you for tax information before we can send a payout. You are responsible for any taxes due on the rewards you receive.
5.6. Any processing fees or currency conversion costs charged by the payout provider are deducted from your payout.

6. How you may share your Link

6.1. The Program is designed for personal recommendations. You may share your Link through personal messages, email, and your own social media channels.
6.2. You may not:
• refer yourself, including through a second account, a different email address or another person’s details;
• post your Link on coupon, deal, cashback or voucher-code websites;
• use paid advertising to promote your Link, including bidding on “Hungry Minds” or related brand terms in search engines;
• send spam or unsolicited bulk messages;
• create fake accounts or use bots or other automated methods;
• present yourself as Hungry Minds or make false or misleading claims about our products or the Program.

7. Fraud and misuse

7.1. We may withhold or cancel any reward, close a referral account, and remove a participant from the Program if we reasonably believe these terms have been broken or the Program has been misused.
7.2. We may recover any rewards that were paid as a result of fraud or a breach of these terms.

8. Changes and ending the Program

8.1. We may change these terms, the rewards, or the Program at any time. When we make significant changes, we will update this page and, where appropriate, notify participants by email.
8.2. We may suspend or end the Program at any time. Commissions that are already confirmed when the Program ends will still be paid, provided they meet these terms.

9. Liability

9.1. To the extent permitted by law, Hungry Minds is not liable for technical problems that prevent a referral from being tracked, including blocked cookies, ad blockers, or a Referred Friend not using your Link.
9.2. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

10. Privacy

10.1. To run the Program, we share limited information with impact.com, such as your name, email address and referral activity. impact.com processes this information to track referrals and make payouts. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law

11.1. These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States.
